HAI Asks FAA To Include Helos in ADS-B Rebate Program
ADS-B OUT avionics will be required for all aircraft, including helicopters, flying in controlled U.S. airspace on Jan. 1, 2020.
With more than 13,000 of the rebates available before the application period expires on September 18, the Helicopter Association International (HAI) has asked the U.S. FAA to add single-engine piston helicopters to the ADS-B rebate program. If approved, owners of helicopters such as the Robinson R22 would be eligible to apply for the $500 rebate when they install ADS-B OUT avionics. (Photo: Robinson Helicopter)
